pd

Born and raised on a farm in Maine, pd had a fascination for bondage since he was a child.

His influences include Japanese bondage art, Michelangelo’s “Bound Slave,” horror films, illustrators like Georges Pichard, Baudrillard’s Simulacra, Marshall McCluhan, the Gran Guignol, and the acts of “signature” serial killers like Glatman and Gien.
pd always incorporated bondage and sado-masochistic themes into his paintings and performance art pieces in New York. When he left Carnegie Mellon in 1997, Insex.com was born.
Hugely successful, Insex.com and pd’s imagery has greatly influenced western bondage from Hollywood portrayals to porn websites.
pd was forced to shut Insex down in 2005 through use of the Patriot Act.

Lorelei Lee

Lorelei Lee began working at Insex in 2003 and after one initial conflict with pd, they went on to create some of the most intense shoots and Live Feeds Insex produced. Lorelei Lee is a writer, undergraduate student, and porn performer. She has studied creative writing at California College of the Arts and San Francisco State University. She has been awarded both a National Foundation for Advancement in the Arts youngARTS Scholarship and the Bishop Award for Best Tit-Tortured Model 2005.

Princess Donna

Princess Donna got her start as a bondage model at Insex in 2003, soon moving into the role as an Insex handler, while working on her double major in Photography and Gender and Sexuality at NYU. In 2004 she became webmaster of Wiredpussy.com, a girl-girl electrosex website.

In October of 2008, she launched Publice Disgrace.com, an explicit BDSM website that focuses on public sex and humiliation. Princess Donna has appeared on Howard Stern and in a number of films such as Superfreak and Tristan Taormino's Ultimate Guide to the G-Spot.
She also speaks at alternative sexuality conferences.

912 contacted Insex in 2003 with the intention of arranging a private bondage scene with PD. Instead, she was hired to model. 912 became an instant favorite with the membership because of her genuine immersion in the scenes, her personality, and her appearance. She and PD became romantically involved during her time as a resident model and in 2004, she began working as a videographer and producer. She continued video and production for Hardtied and InfernalRestraints until 2008.

101

After her arrival at Insex on October 1, 2000, 101 went on to become the first resident model at Insex, collaborating in a tremendous number of remarkable shoots and Live Feeds. She wrote Apartment 101, a scripted shoot at Insex. During her tenure as a resident she also worked as a photograher. Many custom made Insex bondage devices were fit to 101.

AZ AKA Claire Addams

Claire Addams became AZ at Insex in 2001, her first experience as a bondage model. She worked at Insex throughout the years as both model and handler until Insex folded in 2005. Claire has gone on to become an award winning and internationally acclaimed extreme bondage model, director, bondage rigger, BDSM educator, fetish model, and flexi-girl with many other unusual talents as well!

Barry Goldman

Barry met pd in the formative years of Insex and became the model agent for Insex until 2003. During his time at Insex, he also appeared occasionally in shoots and Live Feeds as Sir Barry to administer “corporal,” any punishment in which the body is being struck with a whip, cane, or other such device.

Nina (1201)

Nina learned of Insex through her college roommate, 411, who was pd’s girl friend at the time. She modeled for Insex many times in 2002, starring in several extraordinary shoots and Live Feeds, such as Bald and Sanctuary. She now works at Kink.com in production.

KGB

KGB’s skills and creativity as a metalworker introduced a new level of sophistication to the metal bondage devices at Insex that was never before seen in bondage porn and will probably never occur again because of the time and cost put into the pieces. PD and KGB’s collaboration, beginning in 2001, created a huge body of work that could be considered museum pieces, including such devices as Fluffy (the chair), The Tank, many cages and boxes, metal high heels that screw to the floor, and the Pear.

Star

Holding a BFA in fine-art photography and many years experience coding and maintaining websites, Star started bondage modeling as a way of supporting her now ex-boyfriend. She came to Insex in 2004. Star's niche is extreme BDSM & Fetish.

62 (AKA Maya Matthews)

62 showed up at Insex in 2004 and immediately became known as "the brat," a type of role-playing that she enjoys in which she resists and talks back to the Dominant, generally incurring punishment. One of her most impressive Live Feeds was "Uncle PD and the Brat" in which she told pd and others that she hated them. Her first Insex shoot that was shot in the silo and is some of the most beautiful footage produced by Insex.

cyd Black

An insex member since college and from the inception of Insex, cyd convinced Spacegirl, his bride to be, to model on Insex.com in 2001. Soon after, cyd created a bondage website of his own. In 2003, his dream came true when he was accepted as an apprentice to pd at Insex. After Insex folded, cyd worked with pd to create Hartied.com and Infernalrestraints.com. In late 2005, he left Insex to become webmaster of Devicebondage.com.

Matt Williams

Matt brought his girl friend, Tyler Scott, one of PD’s early and most popular models, to Insex in 1999. He began to help out during shoots. Starting as a grip, he eventually learned how to handle a video camera and often helped pd with ideas for shoots. After untying hundreds of models, he learned enough rope technique to work as a handler for Insex. In 2003, Matt became webmaster of Hogtied for Kink.com.

Sgtmajor Derek Viktur

Raised in a Midwestern town and mayor of his community at the time of his interview, Sargent Major wore a mask to protect his identity. Influenced in his adolescence by House of Milan, he later became a fan of Insex.com. He hosts his own bondage website, backdoorbondage.com with maya matthews (AKA 62) and appears regularly as a guest rigger at Kink.com.

Dale

Describing Insex as transgressive art, Dale, a professional, declined to have his face on camera.
Before his experiences in BDSM, he used to skydive and engage in risky activities, always searching for intense experiences. Now a longtime BDSM practitioner, Dale enjoys being pushed beyond his limits, describing his experiences as transcendent.
Never a member of Insex (he purchased Insex material on pirated cd's), Dale was careful not to give out personal information for fear of compromising his social position.

Jazz

A professional musician in New York, Jazz joined Insex, attracted by pd’s intuitive interaction with the models. He stayed a member because of the tight knit community of members that avidly communicated via the forums and chats. Like all Insex members we interviewed, he was unwilling to show his face on camera.

Leonore

Leonore has been involved in BDSM activities in her private life for many years. Social sanctions against “perverts” prohibit her from revealing her face or the fact that she had a job as a teacher.

Peter Ackworth

PhD student and bondage enthusiast, Peter Ackworth, created Hogtied.com in 1997, a website heavily influenced by Insex.com. As business grew, he created Kink.com, a large corporation that has dominated bondage/kinky porn in the US for years.

Barb Nitke

Barbara Nitke is a New York fine art and fashion photographer. She is best known for her compassionate view of alternative sex. Her career has taken her from behind-the-scenes of hardcore porn sets in the 1980's, to the wildly popular fetish porn of the 1990's, and into the private dungeons of BDSM lovers in the last decade. Her book KISS OF FIRE (2003) explores the romantic side of sadomasochism. She is dedicated to opening the eyes of the world to the beauty of all forms of sex, love and passion.
